Create seamless typography pattern by using Motion tile effects. You can create beautiful animated backgrounds with the help of Motion Tile effect. You can easily find the motion tile effect in the effect and preset panel.
Motion Tile Effect
The motion tile panel is not very complicated. You can create your seamless patterns by setting a few options. Motion tile effect can create a seamless pattern for you by duplicating one (or more) elements. When working with this effect, you will have control over how to duplicate the same element.
The process is very easy and consists of simple steps:
- Applying the motion tile effect
- Adjusting how to repeat
- Animating
Note that any changes that you do on the pre-composition will also happen for the pattern.
In this tutorial we are going to create a typography pattern. So, first of all, we have to type the desired text. in the next step (before the apply effects to the text), you should convert it to a pre-compose. This pre-compose is your effect reference.
Enter that and go to the composition setting then adjust the composition size to fit the text. This step is a subtle point!
You can also animate the text inside Pre-compose. (In my opinion, the final pattern will be too crowded! But you can try it for yourself.)
Now you must drag and drop Motion tile effect on the pre- compose. In the effect control panel, you can control the number of copying by adjust the Output height and Output width. By Tile height and Tile width you can scale the pattern. By adjusting the phase value, you can slightly change the pattern layout.
Now you can create keyframes for different options to animate the pattern. One of the best options is the tile center. make keyframe for the tile center then in each keyframe set the position of it.
